What does a ContractorQuoteKit proposal include?
Each proposal includes your company information, client details, job type, line items (materials and labor broken out separately), markup percentage, tax calculation, subtotal and total, payment terms, notes, and an account/reference number. Pro plans also include your company logo and custom brand colors.
Can I add my company logo to proposals?
Yes — Pro plan users can upload a company logo (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or SVG) that appears on every PDF proposal. You upload it once in Account Settings and it automatically appears on all your quotes.
What file format are the proposals exported in?
Proposals are exported as professional PDF files, which you can email directly to clients, print, or attach to any communication.
How does the markup calculator work?
Enter your costs (labor, materials, and line items), then set your desired markup percentage. ContractorQuoteKit automatically calculates the markup amount, applies tax, and shows the final total. It correctly calculates margin vs markup so you never underprice a job.

Is ContractorQuoteKit available on mobile?
ContractorQuoteKit is a web application that works on any device with a browser — desktop, tablet, or mobile phone. There is no app to download.
Can I use custom brand colors on my proposals?
Pro plan subscribers can choose 2 custom brand colors (primary and accent) that apply to their PDF proposals. Colors can be selected via a color picker or entered as a hex code.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your Account page. If you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of your billing period, then your account reverts to the free plan.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is stored securely in a hosted database. Payments are processed by Stripe, which is PCI compliant. We never store raw card data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What is the difference between markup and margin?
Markup is the percentage added to your cost. Margin is the percentage of the selling price that is profit. They are not the same: a 20% margin requires a 25% markup. ContractorQuoteKit calculates this correctly so you always hit your target profitability.
Can I add an account number or reference number to proposals?
Yes. All plans include an account/reference number field on every quote. This is useful for tracking quotes by project number, client account, or internal reference.
